Mike found his love and passion for music as a child. At the young age of 7 his father discovered that he could sing. At the time, Bob Jimenez was managing his brothers band, “Little Ray & the Progressions.” Bob knew it was the perfect opportunity to get Mike on stage and show off his talent. At every show they would bring him out to sing. All the band members would call him “Little Dynamite.”
At 12 years old, Mike joined his friends band “EKO” as the lead singer. Shortly after, at 13, he decided it was time to make his mark and start his own band called “Nice N Easy.” In 1980, then 18 years old, he joined the platinum record-making band, “Tierra.” He sang with them for 13 years. As his musical career spanned decades, he had the privilege of meeting and performing with legends such as El Chicano, James Brown, Chaka Khan, Marc Anthony, Sheila E, and various artists. In 2003, he started his latest band, “Mike Jimenez and The Power Project.”
